A 80 Km de nuestra Zacapa, se encuentra la Basílica del Cristo Negro de Esquipulas, y junto a él nacimiento del Señor Jesús y el Río de los deseos, el cual se ha convertido en un atractivo por mas de 30 años, porque muchos creyentes vienen de otros departamentos e inclusive de otros Países, para pedir un deseo y dejar una ofrenda que nace de su corazón. Nos Cuenta Doña Clemencia de 85 años de edad, junto a su familia, nos dice que ella tiene aproximadamente 20 años de estar viajando a este Municipio de Esquipulas en estas fechas para darle gracias a Dios por permitirle terminar un año mas, y empezar uno nuevo, a la vez deja su ofrenda en Río de los deseos, para pedirle un deseo a Dios y que se lo haga realidad.
